  5. Even if you cannot find any trash - You still take a pic in the park every 10 minutes to prove that you are in the park and looking for trash.

  7. Take your pics just like you normally would with your phone.
  8. Every pic you take will be saved on your phone and later you can show these pics to your supervisor.

You can print out all your records when you are finished and you will receive a completion letter when you finish on your worksites non-profit letterhead as required by most Courts.

Questions and Answers

Question - Can I spend more or less time in the park?
Answer - Yes. You are going to get credit based on the time on your pics. For Example - If your pics are correct and you spend 4 hours in the first park you will receive credit for 4 hours. Please remember that all of your pictures have a time on them. If you only spend 45 minutes in a park, you will only receive credit for 45 minutes. You may also spend more time in larger parks or Preserves.

Question - What if I lose or delete my pictures
Answer - Upload your pictures to photo album as soon as you get home. Your pictures are your proof that you were there. You must provide pictures with required information or you will not receive credit. Your supervisor will help you with pics but they cannot approve your hours if you do not provide pics as required.

Question - Who is keeping track of my hours?
Answer - We will keep track of your hours and your supervisor will monitor your progress and sign off on your hours as they are completed. We will add your time to your official timesheet either weekly or at the end of your assignment as supervisor approves those hours. A community service supervisor from a 501c3 non-profit organization is reviewing and signing off on your hours so they will be accepted by the courts as long as you have followed all other directions the courts have given you.

Question - What if I cannot find the park sign, a trash-can or my park on maps?
Answer - It happens occassionally. Just notify your supervisor and complete the remainder of the items on checklist. You will still get credit.

Question - Can I get more assignments?
Answer - Absolutely! Finish your assignment and ask for another. Please give your supervisor a few days to check your work and please remember your supervisor may take a few days off sometime during the week. Everyone wants you to finish as soon as possible so we will make every effort to check your work quickly and get you to the next assignment.

Setting up your Phone

Your phone is required to complete the first assignment and will be used to add your location to the pics you will be taking. Only your supervisor will see your location on pics. You may be asked to take photos or video to prove you are completing assignments as required.

Phone settings may vary greatly with different models so please set your phone according to the directions below to get started and your supervisor will check your first pics to let you know if you need to adjust anything later. Most phones are already set properly for photos so you may not have to adjust anything. Do not worry if this is unclear because you will have time to adjust settings later if needed and your supervisor will send you more detailed instructions later if you need to make changes.
